The 3rd Annual Royal Affair Charms Atlanta Teens

Sapphire Ink Public Relations’ annual charity event, Royal Affair, gives a new perspective to what it means to be a princess.  The event held at Paragon 7 Studios, on a perfect fall day in November, gave 15 young women all the tools to go forth as confident young women.  Sapphire Ink Public Relations along with partners The She is Me Program, Lakeisha Massey, Walk a Mile in My Shoes/Under Armour, 40 Girls and Some Shoes, Black Celebrity Giving, Mally Beauty, Sugga’s Thrift Boutique, and Wat-aah to name a few donated resources and helping hands in order to create a memorable experience for these ladies.

Defining their “true definition of beauty,” participants were selected for the Royal Affair based on an essay and their excellent academic record. These young women needed that little boost that a day of empowering seeds and a little glam can offer.  The event included a wonderful empowerment session lead by Friday Girl TV who discussed uses for social media, a skin care consultation by Shelia Nwachukwu of Mark Kay Cosmetics, and a glamorous makeover from some of Atlanta’s most talented hair, make-up and wardrobe professionals. To complete this amazing experience, each girl received a professional photo shoot fit for a top model.

Believing in the idea that women should work together to impact the younger generation, SIPR’s founders, Tiffany Cadogan and Charlisia Nwachukwu, collaborated with over 15 female owned businesses for the 2011 Royal Affair. “We think it’s important to share with these girls the importance of choosing to stand up for yourself even if It means standing alone and that there is a special strength in being a girl. We want them to be empowered princesses today that will lead the future as powerful queens tomorrow,” says Charlisia Nwachukwu, SIPR’s Vice-President.
