Cat eye makeup can give you a stylish look, suitable for every occasion, whether it is a party, business dinner, or usual weekday, as the 50s cat eye makeup trend has arrived into the modern high fashion world.
Creating the Rihanna or Beyonce cat-eye effect is not as difficult as you may expect though--there are easy steps you can follow to make the process of application smoother.
- Perfectly prepped lids will make your look last, so start with a quick application of eye primer. (Tip: If your skin tends to be on the oily side, dust each lid with a sheer coat of translucent powder or neutral eyeshadow.)
- Next, trace your upper lashes with a thin coat of liquid liner, connecting the outer to inner corners of each eye, following your natural lash line. (Tip: Liquid liner can be challenging, so feel free to trace your steps first with an eyeliner pencil.)
- Starting just beyond the pupil and moving towards your temple, draw a second coat of liquid liner, thickening the line just slightly as you approach the outer corner of the eye.
- Once you’ve reached the edge, gently angle the line upwards about a quarter of an inch and fill in as needed. (Tip: the longer the winged stroke, the more dramatic the look!)
- If your liner needs a touch-up, take a makeup-removing pen and even out the edges.
- For a fetching finish touch, add some faux fringe with a few false lashes!
