Momma Dee, K Michelle, and Rasheeda from “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” all dropped by the V103 studio for their FIRST radio interview ever, since coming together as a cast. Executive producer, Mona Scott Young, called in and gave Egypt the low down on how this season is "what you see is what you get."

Egypt Sherrod: K Michelle, we see some tears from you a bit this season. You spoke about domestic violence once in your relationship. Of course the blogs are buzzing. You used to date Memphitz, Toya Carter Wright’s husband. She’s very in love with him- they’re a beautiful couple. He’s the one you said laid hands on you at some point.
K Michelle: Well, I just think that situation…I wish them two the best. People always want it to be a rift in a situation with you and the other woman. I think she’s a very positive woman, especially in Atlanta, doing a lot of things. But, just as she told her story, this is my time to tell my story. And even though people get better, people change for the better and become different people, they had a past before that and I was part of that past and when I’m singing and going through things and a lot happened within my record deal with that situation, people did not know why I was miserable for three years in a deal and people wasn’t around to see everything that happened to me at that record label, from that man, that abuse- whatever, people didn’t see that.
Egypt Sherrod: Do you forgive him?
I wanna forgive him. I forgive him enough to wish him well.
Egypt Sherrod: Has he acknowledged it?
He’s acknowledged it. I think the problem with this situation is you know when somebody goes and says you’re crazy and it never happened, you can apologize to me through texts, but when you go to the world and look at the world and say you know what, I never did that she’s crazy, that means you’re not sorry.
Egypt Sherrod:So just to be clear, you’re not throwing mud on Toya, you’re not throwing mud on their relationship, you’re just trying to tell your story as it is.
In reference to last years “Love & Hip Hop,” what is different that everybody should know about Love & Hip Hop Atlanta?K Michelle: As is. And having to pick up the pieces mentally, emotionally, and not only that just with my career, you know, that was someone I was signed to and that was my record label. So, you know, it’s not about throwing any shade. I wish them the best of luck, honestly, I do. But you know my fans, and women, I became the face of another woman when that incident happened and when different things happened so I just keep it 100 and say what it is and I know there’s a woman out there who can understand.
K Michelle: They are some characters honey. They are all out who they are. I think this storyline is almost like I’d like to say it’s almost like a movie more than a reality show. It’s really women going through life and their real situations, just like New York, but it’s kinda turned up.Why expose yourself at all?
K Michelle: I think being an artist is kinda like you already exposed yourself. I don’t like people to write my songs. I say what I feel all the time from Twitter all the way down. I say what it is and I just feel like there’s a lot of people who didn’t know me still, even with me singing, and they had the wrong misconception about who K Michelle was, so I’m like you know what, people judge reality shows and reality people, but they do the same thing behind closed doors. We just do it on the tv. So it is what it is. I think it was good to get out there and show who you were.What’s your storyline on Love & Hip Hop Rasheeda?
Oh my gosh. What can I tell you without giving you too much? My storyline is basically- I am a woman who is just going hard for her goals and dreams and I’m very- you’ll see a lot about my relationship and how its hard to make things work when you’re trying to be independent and you know stand your ground and just stay focused. You’ll see me talking about the sacrifices and a lot of things that I’ve been through and my relationships is something that you’ll really get to see in the forefront which is crazy.It’s an interesting dynamic when you work with your husband so we get to see that play out on camera…
Rasheeda: Yes and you know I have never done this before and I’m doing it in front of the world!What’s the hardest part of having cameras in your face all the time?
K Michelle: You know what just kind of really knowing what not to say out your mouth, because you know this world is just so just, oh my Lord, you know things get taken out of content and sometimes when you be a little too much of yourself and you be like boom boom boom say something then people, you know you say it in a way and people interpret it another way. So those are kinda like the things that you know I kinda keep in my head sometimes, like Lord let me not get a little too too crazy. But you know I still do get crazy and after awhile you kind of forget the cameras are there, so then after you’re done you’re sitting there thinking, Lord what the hell I done??
Momma Dee: For those who are listening, this is Momma Dee as far as you can see. I’ll say what I gotta say and I mean what I mean. And I mean that in that order and I ain’t taking nothing back you heard me??
So you guys are still around town with the cameras?
Mona Scott-Young: Yes we are. We’re doing 10 episodes.Reality TV is getting a bad wrap. Folks we love it. It’s like a train wreck- we want to watch it, but then we go and talk about it- I can’t believe they did that-but then we go and watch it again. Are we seeing that train wreck this season Mona?
I mean listen. I never consider it a train wreck. I just think that what we’re showcasing are these people’s lives and some moments are more outrageous than others. I think we all have moments- like I said over and over, everyone just doesn’t have a camera following them around. So what we are going to get are some wonderful, wonderful people who are living their lives and they’re doing it for the world to see. They’re been open, they’ve been honest. They’re allowed us to capture all of these moments and I think people are going to find it illuminating, entertaining, funny, heartbreaking- you know we’re just going to see some really well-rounded people trying to accomplish their goals and living out their lives for the cameras to see.
