On January 22, 2013, the new luxury lifestyle brand QUINN announced the launch of its first
collection. QUINN introduces its original design concepts and signature
effortless style with its fall 2013 collection, “Old is New”. Inspired by Old World art and architecture,
the design team created a ready-to-wear collection that is uniquely modern. The
influence of Gothic cathedrals and surrealistic portraits can be seen throughout
the line—from the rich color palette reminiscent of stained-glass windows to the
symmetrical prints that mimic intricate columns and luminescent chandeliers.
“The line
offers a new perspective,” said design director Bree Telford. “We reinterpreted
traditional stitches in knitwear and created organic, intertwining cables,
geometric intarsias and modern fair isles. These small details make the garments
really special.”
With this
collection, QUINN emphasizes its commitment luxury. Luxe materials, like
cashmere, silk, leather and wool, are found throughout the line. Beautiful
mouliné yarns in colors exclusive to QUINN are knitted into cashmere overpieces,
dolman-sleeved sweaters and tapered dip-dye pants.
“Our moulinés
and printed fabrics are unique to the brand, so there is nothing similar to them
out there in the market right now,” said Telford. “The exclusivity of our
products reinforces QUINN as a luxury
brand.”
Standout
pieces from the collection include a pair of satin pleated pants, an
asymmetrical paneled leather jacket and an aubergine rabbit fur
vest. The line takes a playful turn with its animal
intarsia sweaters that depict a pair of geometric swans and a rippling portrait
of a tiger.
“The styles are cohesive, without being repetitive, and are
easily mixed and matched to create a fresh look every time,” said marketing
manager Kosi
Harris.
The opening price point for ranges from $100 for knitwear,
$190 for woven pieces and $225 for leather styles. The line will be carried in
luxury retailers, contemporary stores and the brand’s own e-commerce site,
Quinnshop.com.
The collection has already created a buzz among fashion
frontrunners. QUINN has been seen on Emily Blunt & Juno Temple.
“We’ve received a great reaction from editors, bloggers,
stylists and celebrities,” said Harris. “It’s a really exciting time right now
for all of us at QUINN, and we are looking forward to big things in the coming
season.”
