Rock & roll chains meet polka dot pop
in Ainsley’s Fall 2013 collection. The new collection combines a hard-edge
personality with a soft, feminine alter ego. Drawing inspiration from colorful
floral meadows, bold zebras and hot pink poodles, the collection mixes
contrasting fabrics and materials to create a distinctive femme-rocker look.
This season Ainsley has reinterpreted
classic styles in an original way. The brand’s modern take on the raincoat
includes laser cut polka dot patterns, contrasting paneling and a zippered hood.
Tuxedo blazers are updated with brocade fabrics and chain button closures, while
pencil skirt silhouettes are modernized with peplum ruffles in gingham
prints.
The striking fusions of prints and
patterns, matte and shine, as well as chains and zips are found throughout the
free-spirited collection. The collection is on-trend with its mixed-media
approach; the tweed motorcycle jacket combines quilted velvet with vegan leather
and the ironic intarsia sweaters feature a cartoon puppy and zebra adorned with
chain metal nose rings.
The brand continues to blur the line
between art and fashion with its offering of special edition prints featuring
the original artwork of the zebra and poodle intarsia patterns, available online
at www.AinsleyNY.com.
Each season, the brand embraces
innovative, experimental designs that continue to excite and impress. The
collection was modeled by Natalie Suarez of Natalie Off Duty and styles were
featured in Women’s Wear Daily in
February. The line will be carried in specialty boutiques and department stores
such as Ron Herman, Shopbop’s original flagship store BOP and AinsleyNY.com come
fall
