Spelman's Nandi Stewart Wins Big on The Nationally Syndicated Ford Black College Quiz TV Show

Students from the nation’s leading historically black colleges clashed in a battle wits at the 7th Annual Ford Black College Quiz Show.  This year’s winners shared over $25K in cash prizes, and earned 12-month of bragging rights for their respective schools.  Host RonReaco Lee (BET’s “Let’s Stay Together”) awarded championship medals and cold hard cash to the student participants in the “Jeopardy-style” nationally televised challenge.

Produced by Central City Productions, in the show’s seventh season the format was tweaked slightly to allow each participant an opportunity to win cash prizes based on their ranking after four rounds of competitive play.  One of the first-place winners, Spelman College student Nandi Stewart received a prize of $5,000 to further their studies.  Scholarship prizes were also awarded to second and third place winners who received awards valued at $1,000 and $500 respectively.

The Ford Black College Quiz Show features 12 gifted students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) skillfully displaying their knowledge of notable African-American facts.  The series highlights the importance of continuing education and higher learning for both African-American students and the HBCU's they attend.  Four first-place winners, one from each episode of the show, earn a prize of $5,000 to  Scholarships in the amount of $1,000 and $500 are awarded to second and third place contestants in each half-hour episode.
