On Saturday, October 12th in NYC, SoRen collaborated with lifestyle magazine, UPTOWN, as the media sponsor. High profile women in the media and entertainment and financial services industries came out to celebrate. SoRen Tea supporter and Oscar-nominated actress, Taraji P. Henson was the guest of honor and gave a very candid conversation about her background and career. The intimate, invitation only event was held at Parlor New York in Soho, a private, members only club.
As guests entered, they were captivated by the ambiance and were pleasantly surprised by the décor. The ladies were treated to SoRen gourmet loose leaf teas at the self-serve tea bar and passed hors d'oeuvres. Light jazz music played in the background while they mingled and indulged in the SoRen Tea experience. As the program commenced, everyone gathered in the lounge as Rena opened up by speaking about the SoRen Tea brand. Sonnia introduced Taraji and moderated the conversation. Taraji discussed various topics such as, how she got started in the industry, the struggles of being a female actress of color, and how she has been able to remain relevant throughout her career. At the end of the conversation, the guests were given mini cakes by Parlor and SoRen Tea swag bags.
