My First Stop when I arrived in Los Angeles on Wednesday January 22 was the ESSENCE Black Women In Music Lincoln MKC Lux Luncheon with Emeli Sande. I got the chance to meet Emeli and follow her on her “Lincoln Journey”. Emeli Sandé is among a select few featured in The Lincoln Motor Company’s “Journey” campaign, a program that explores inspiration, entrepreneurship and people who have followed their dreams. During the lunch she spoke about her music, excitement for the Grammy’s and her love for the piano.
Sandé has written for a number of GRAMMY-winning artists. Her debut album, Our Version of Events, spent 63 weeks at the top of the UK’s Official Album Chart, beating a record set and held for almost 50 years. She is such a sweet and talented singer/songwriter and I'm so glad Essence and Lincoln is giving her time to shine.
