Lupita Nyong'o's Makeup Artist Nick Barose shares details on her 2014 Oscar Look
Lupita Nyong'o's makeup artist Nick Barose shared makeup details with Allure Magazine Check out how he created her ethereal look below
The Eyes. "We wanted the brows to be dramatic. I filled in the eyebrows using Chanel Crayon Sourcils Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil in Noir to add a stronger shape, but it's still pretty soft. She's wearing liquid liner [Chanel Ligne Graphique De Chanel in Noir], but you don't even see it from a distance. For the eyes, I used a mix of shades from the Chanel Ombres Quadra Eyeshadow in Jardin Zen palette. It's a very simple eye. It's defined without being too dark."
The Lips. "The lip and cheek are bright orange, but they look subtle on Lupita."
The Extra Step. "Between the potential for crying and the rain, I wanted to make sure the look would last. The mascara and eyeliner are both waterproof, and the lipstick is long-wearing. I blotted her eyelids before applying the eye shadow to get rid of any oil, so I knew the shadow would stay in place."
