Dita Von Teese releases intimidating eyewear collection

Dita Von Teese has shared more details about her upcoming eyewear range with DITA Inc.

The burlesque beauty is set to launch a range of eyewear with DITA Inc., which will include ten unique spectacles. Describing a pair of shades called Femme Totale, Dita shared her inspiration behind the design.

    "I love distinctive, powerful - dare I admit - ‘intimidating’ sunglasses. These frames will let them know that you’re a feminine force to be reckoned with!" she mused to WWD. "I’ll be wearing these poolside with a black maillot de bain, sky-high heels and maybe some diamonds... Sunglasses are the quick way to achieve glamour. Day-to-day, I usually wear little more than a swipe of red lipstick and a pair of shades.”

Another pair called Huntress also has a strong meaning for Dita. Again, she shared the prime opportunity to wear them.

These new-style cat-eye shades were imagined for a woman who knows what she wants. I imagined wearing these sitting outdoors at a Parisian cafe and quietly surveying the scene for possible love interests," she smiled. 

 There is also Paramour - a more sophisticated option.

“These make me think of sexy shades that a glamorous French woman might wear to meet her lover for a secret afternoon rendezvous,” Dita added.

Dita Von Teese Eyewear will first debut in selected department stores in Italy, Spain and France, with prices ranging from $235 to $285. The star has had the help of her close friend John Juniper, who co-founded DITA Inc. and named it after her.
