So You Have Eczema, Now What?

This year I developed Eczema and its the most irritating thing EVER. So I'm sharing some products and tips that I use to calm my flare ups.

  1. Neosporin Eczema Essentials: I use this daily during my flare ups it provides immediate relief of itching and redness. It also moisturizes the skin. $9.99 at CVS
  2. Shea Moisture Eczema and Psoriasis Therapy: delivers a gentle, cleansing experience while naturally soothing troubled skin. $4.99 at CVS and online
  3. Cetaphil Cleanser: Mild, soap-free formula cleanses without irritation — it won’t strip skin of its natural protective oils or emollients. Carried at most drug stores I purchased mine at Family Dollar for like $4.00
  4. Bathe only in warm water. Hot water dries out skin. Wash with a gentle cleanser instead of soap. Don't use body scrubbers or washcloths, as these can irritate skin. Pat dry with a soft towel instead of rubbing, and be sure to leave skin damp.
  5. Avoid sweating and overheating. Being hot and sweaty often triggers itching and scratching.
  6. Reduce stress. Finding time to relax can be a challenge, but reducing your stress level will help prevent eczema flares.
