Travel Diaries: New Orleans

I was able to spend five days in the beautiful city of New Orleans because I was in town covering Essence Music Festival. Despite it being so hot I really enjoyed touring the city and meeting new people and I was able to celebrate my birthday on Bourbon St, can anyone tell me why it smells so bad? LOL regardless I had the time of my life we danced and people watched.

Good Times!

Take a look at some of the landmarks I ran across
Historic Jackson Square, originally known in the 18th century as "Place d'Armes," and later renamed in honor of the Battle of New Orleans hero Andrew Jackson, is a timeless attraction in the heart of the French Quarter of New Orleans.

The St. Louis Cathedral is one of New Orleans' most notable landmarks. This venerable building, its triple steeples towering above its historic neighbors, the Cabildo and the Presbytere - looks down benignly on the green of the Square and General Andrew Jackson on his bronze horse and on the block-long Pontalba Buildings with their lacy ironwork galleries.

A New Orleans landmark, located directly across from Jackson Square and the Pontalba apartments, Cafe du Monde offers the original beignet, the state doughnut of Louisiana
