With the holiday season in full swing and the festive cheer spreading, a lot of us will be looking to add cozy touches to our homes to help create a winter sanctuary. For those looking to fit a new kitchen, or alternatively just add some wintery elements around your home, experts at Wren Kitchens have revealed five winter color palettes to try in your homes to create the ultimate space this winter.
1. Dramatic blacks with timber and muted metals
Dark kitchen cabinets can represent a rich luxurious esthetic in homes, adding depth and drama. This scheme can really help in creating a cozy space, especially in large rooms that receive a lot of natural light.
If you have a smaller room, avoid using this color scheme in large amounts as this can make the room look too dark and confined. Instead, try adding darker accents around the room such as a feature wall or soft furnishings.
2. Forest green with gold and black
The earthy and warming tones of forest green cabinetry match up beautifully with golds, blacks, and whites. However, for the ultimate winter look try pairing forest green with more deep grays and blacks to add more drama to the room.
3. Berry tones and dark wood
Darker woods are making their way back into style, such as gray oak countertops. These wooden colors go perfectly with berry tones, which have been influenced by the rise of old meets new.
Vintage furniture, such as retro side tables and pendant lights, go perfectly with this scheme, as well deep berry furnishings and burgundy curtains to block out the miserable winter weather.
4. Dark blue and white
Dark blue kitchens create a rich esthetic, especially when paired with chrome hardware. To complete the look, add snowy white quartz countertops to create some lightness in the room. You can warm the look up further with amber lighting and cozy materials such as velvet and fleeces.
5. Marble and pebble grays
More of a unique, yet rich look, this color pairing is the ultimate in creating a luxurious feel to your home. You can bring in the marble tones with utensils, table settings and electronics such as toasters and kettles.
This look will bring texture, light and warmth into your kitchen with contrasting tones.
