Today, iONE Digital’s HelloBeautiful.com released its sizzling, hot HelloBeautiful August cover featuring GRAMMY® Award-nominated singer-songwriter and NAACP Image Award-winning actress, Chlöe Bailey. In her cover feature interview, Chlöe reveals how she embraces her confidence and quirks, addresses misconceptions about her sexiness, and shares how she’s ready to shine in Peacock’s Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist. Read the cover story to learn how she is balancing acting and preparing for the Friday, August 9 release of her sophomore album, Trouble In Paradise.
Chlöe portrays a character of profound strength and vulnerability named Lena Mosley in the upcoming Peacock crime-drama miniseries, Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist, coming in September. The film is executive produced by Will Packer and Kevin Hart and stars Hollywood heavyweights Samuel L. Jackson, Terrance Howard, Don Cheadle, and Taraji P. Henson. On working alongside acting legends, Chlöe shared,
“I was nervous because that's Taraji and we've seen each other in passing, but we've never worked together. So knowing that I got to have that opportunity, I was like, I hope I can step up to the plate and hold my own. And she made me feel comfortable and warm and loved, and I have to truly say the same about Samuel L. Jackson.”
Chlöe told HelloBeautiful that she drew inspiration for Lena from iconic Blaxploitation characters like Foxy Brown and Beyoncé’s Foxxy Cleopatra. The actress also discussed the duality of being grown and sexy while still having a love for “science, technology and engineering.” She wants to remind everyone that women are multifaceted.
On the topic of music, Chlöe burst with pride when she talked about the work she put into her upcoming sophomore album, Trouble in Paradise. Bailey told HelloBeautiful the project was recorded and mastered in St. Lucia where she found solace, acceptance, and creativity.
“I can walk around with no makeup, I can walk around loving my body, I can go to the ocean, truly just pray to God and thank him for the blessings that I have. And it reminds me that life isn't all about what my career is. It's not about outer validation, but the inner peace,” said Chlöe.
